If you would like to purchase one of our puppies, please contact us first to make sure that the puppy is still available. Almost always if its still showing as available it is, as we try very hard to keep this site updated. Occasionally though, we do fall behind and we wouldn't want anyone to get their heart set on a particular puppy and find out its gone already. We can be reached quickest at basskennels@yahoo.com
I recommend emailing us over calling. We are all very busy with the dogs and puppies and seldom even hear the phone ringing. We do check our emails often throughout the day/night and if you do prefer to call leave a message and we'll be in touch as soon as possible.
We require a $100 deposit to hold the puppy. The deposit is non refundable unless something happens to the puppy while in our care. The balance must be paid by the time the puppy is 8 wks old unless other arrangements are made. Once we have discussed you sending a deposit, we allow 4 days for the deposit to reach us by mail. If it is not received by then, the puppy will be offered for sale again.
The purchase contract needs to be printed and mailed or faxed to us at the time the deposit is made. You need only to fill out the part with your name, address, phone number and requested airport if shipping. Click here for the purchase contract
We accept payment for deposit by in cash, money order or paypal For paypal deposits we will send you a invoice to pay which includes a 3.5% fee to the total(about $3.50 per hundred) to cover charges to us by paypal.
If you are unable to pick up/receive your puppy up by the date he/she will be ready, please contact us immediately. We will as a courtesy to you hold your puppy here for a additional week at no charge. After that date you will be responsible for any charges for additional care including vaccinations, dewormings. If after two weeks of the agreed pickup date you have not paid in full, we will place the puppy back up for adoption and the deposit will be forfeited. This can be avoided simply by keeping in contact with us and letting us know whats going on. We will work with you as much as possible.
You are more than welcome to come here and pick your puppy up, however we know everyone cannot do that, so shipping is available if needed at a cost of $250, which includes airfare, crate, health certificate and insurance. We do not inflate the shipping price and make no money shipping at all. It is a courtesy to our customers only. We are 2 hours from the airport so gas alone is around $25, airfare is from the lowest at $162- $212 (according to ever which airline we use), the health certificate is $25 and the crate is $25 and insurance is $7 , so you can see we can easily go in the hole if the airfare is on the higher end. So please don't ask us to negotiate shipping charges as we feel we already have. Shipping is available to most larger airports. Shipping is safe and we insure our puppies as well. We try to get the puppy shipped to airport nearest you, but it must be serviced by the airlines we use, Delta, Continental or American. We cannot use Delta or American very much in the summer months due to heat restrictions. Please be aware that not all airplanes can carry puppies. They must have a climate controlled area for pets. There for flights are more select. We try to accommodate your schedule, but often you'll have to accommodate the airlines schedule instead. Flight are booked after final payment has been made. You will be provided all necessary information for pickup at that time. Puppies are generally picked up at the airports cargo area or the baggage claim office. You will need to show ID at that time to pick your puppy up.
There are no refunds given on shipping fee after puppy has been checked in at the airport.

We welcome potential adopters to visit our puppies. You will be visiting our home not a kennel even though our name is Bass Kennels. When visiting we will show you any available puppy and any parent to any puppy you are interested in. We do not allow tours of our birthing room/nursery. Our mothers would not appreciate the stress of having strangers looking at her babies so we show babies away from their mothers.
Please try to keep your visit within a hour's time. I deal with many people weekly and need all the time I can get to work. Caring for them takes many hours and I have a family too.
Please do not bring your dog with you when you visit. I get asked all the time if people can bring their dog so they can see if they like the puppy. It won't work like you think. Your dog will be nervous being in a strangers home where he can smell/see/hear other dogs and there will be puppies running all over the room. Your dog will not be comfortable in that kind of enviroment, trust me. Some of the nicest dogs in their own home have become nervous enough with all the action going on here that they've actually snapped at the puppies. Introducing your new puppy to your current dog on his own turf is best. If your dog gets along well with dogs its used to chances are it would be fine with meeting a new puppy when properly introduced in their own home. Dogs are pack animals, not people(even though they're generally alot nicer, LOL) and do tend to like other dogs and would most likely welcome a friend.
Children are welcome to visit too. Please supervise them with touching and holding the puppies.
And Finally- Please limit visitors to no more than 4 people including yourself when visiting
Keeping our dogs/puppies happy healthy and safe is the #1 priority! You wouldn't want it any otherway, right?
Bass Kennels is located in Eastern NC.
Our breeding program started with Miniature Dachshunds, which I've loved all my life. In 1996 we got started with that breed and still breed them today. You can visit my website for my dachshunds at www.bassdachshunds.com
As our children grew up they too became interested in having their own breeding programs. They chose breeds that made them feel like I do about my own beloved breed. This site was made for them and their puppies. All the puppies shown are backed by a 1 yr health guarantee, have been vet checked and are available to homes that can provide the same loving care they have been given since birth.
The puppies are born and raised inside our homes and have been socialized since birth to ensure you recieve a puppy with a nice even temperment. My daughter and my daughter in law are both certified vet technicians and their knowledge is a great contribution to all our programs.
We strive to give the best customer service possible and will answer any questions you have now and after you purchase your puppy. We reserve the right to refuse a sale. No sales to Pet stores or Brokers
